Feeling Triggered?

Agitated lately by minor inconveniences? Triggered by someone and or their actions on the daily? Triggers are common among individuals with high levels of anxiety. You may be triggered out of nowhere for reasons you do not understand. Here are a few keys to remember when faced with our triggers ….

First, taking a step back and assessing any facts is critical. When we take a moment, breathe deeply, and consider all sides, we can control our emotions and how we choose to react.

Practice tact and positive action. How we accept and deliver our emotions, information, and love is all up to us. Knowing that we can control how we show up is just as important as what we are showing up with.

Being realistic with yourself and acknowledging whatever you’re feeling is beyond empowering. Say to yourself, do these feelings genuinely belong to me or someone else?? And if not, let them go!

Meditate. If you feel you’re entering an environment that has the power to trigger, a 10-minute meditation could help clear the mind and align the truth.

Remind yourself how far you’ve come and that you no longer accept certain behaviors. Authentic growth will interrupt a trigger every time.

Be hyper-aware of projection. Is someone else subconsciously putting their issues on to you?? If so, you have the power to reject their energy.

Remember … Name your trigger. Call your trigger out!
